I LOVE BERLIN

After we went back to Sweden on Monday from our long trip...
We embarked on another short trip on Thursday, to Berlin and Salzburg.
I know, CRAZYYYYY.

but Berlin was truly amazing, or maybe because I studied Cold War and walking through the city was like my notes coming to life. We went on a walking tour and it was MUCH better than walking aimlessly throughout the city cos the tour guide explains many monuments and the stories behind them. LOVEEEE BERLIN *inserts hearts and confetti!

ohya, to add to the rich history of Berlin... THE FOOD IS SO CHEAP HAHAHAHA.
cos its nearer to the Eastern Europe side so yea. #pigmodeon

as usual, we took the train! and we had to board the ferry at Puttgarden station.

spaghettiiiiii. the most common food in Europe.

funny things they sell on board lol.

KIT KATTTTT.

my favourite shop in Hamburg hahah. (as mentioned in my Hamburg post)
we had a 20 min stop at this station before the train moved on to Berlin and I KNEW THIS IS ON MY TO EAT LIST hehe.
and I FINALLY got to eat out of a box like in TV shows yay~

for Mr K who has a sweet tooth. 250 calories I SEE IT RIGHT THERE OMG.

arrived at Berlin Hbf and the first thing we do? EAT.

where our hotel was! super convenient having the train station just opposite.

did grocery shopping... to bring stuff back to Lund hahaha.
cos everything in Berlin is cheaper #auntie

after checking in and everything, we went for some steak (RARE TREAT)
cos 1. Berlin's food was relatively cheaper and 2. the next day was V day (LOL CLICHÉ)

what's food without beer in Germany?

then we went to the DDR museum! its about life in Eastern Germany during the Cold War.
and its an interactive museum, which means you get to touch the exhibits and have hands on stuff.
SO FUN!

then we went to... EAT SOMEMORE heheh.
well, both of us shared one steak so we were hungry by like 9pm. okay fine, excuses!

MORE ASIAN FOOD. found this Taiwan noodle store! wanted to eat Dim Sum but we couldn't find that specific shop after quite long so we gave up.

and the following day we went for the walking tour!

DAY 2~~~

part of the Berlin Wall

memorial for the Jews

THE BRANDENBURG GATE. rich history behind this!
go google ON YOUR OWN.

"I CAME TO BERLIN" kind of smile

finished the tour at about 2pm and we went to explore the city more on our own.
cos the tour didn't cover one part of Berlin where I really wanted to go... which is the Berlin Wall Monument.

but more eating before that... AS USUAL.

1.20 euro CURRYWURST. WHERE TO FIND 1.20 SAUSAGES OTHER THAN IN BERLIN YOU TELL ME.

arrived at the monument after getting a bit lost... we exited from the wrong side whoopsie.
but the Germans are always nice and friendly so yea, we got there eventually :)

they had these brown wooden pillars (or what do you call it?) to explain life in Eastern Germany and also clips and all.

and of course, we had to take a shot.

really loved taking in all the sights in Berlin and learning more about life during the Cold War.
its really sad actually :( history please don't repeat yourself.

then we went for... KOREAN FOOD WAHAHAHA.
(I've never even been to a Korean restaurant in SG lol)

SO SO YUMMY *heart shaped eyes.

this was the starter.

TOFU SOUP. yes tofu again!

STAR OF THE NIGHT. JA JIANG MIAN.
*salivates

bye awesome Berlin~~~
